Donor Ready

Change how donors see your organization, before the conversation begins.

Donor Ready is an internal program. It does not go anywhere near a donor. It exists to help you understand exactly how you are being read, and to give you the evidence, the structure, and the narrative to proactively address it before anyone asks. We give you the collateral to use this as your exclusive outbound marketing tool, positioning you above every other nonprofit competing for the same funding.

The full program is set out below, pillar by pillar.

The Mirror

See what donors see.
Before they do.

Donor Ready is not an assessment, and it is not something you hand to anyone. It is an internal program that starts from an honest look at how a senior donor would read your organization today. Most nonprofit leaders cannot answer that with any precision, and that gap is exactly what the program closes.

The program gives you an independent, structured view of the four areas donors now routinely evaluate. You get benchmarks, training, action plans, and re-assessments. All of it internal, all of it yours.

You never send a donor a Donor Ready document, because there is nothing to send. It is a body of work you do inside the organization. The result is that the next time you are in front of a donor, you arrive as a visibly stronger, more modern organization, with independent evidence to back it up.

Your silence is the problem

Donors are not waiting for weaknesses to surface. They mark you down for the absence of visible, positive proof. If you are not actively demonstrating these things, you are being passed over.

Get on the front foot

You do not have to fix everything first. The nonprofits winning funding are the ones who read the new lens early, started putting things right, and said so in every funder conversation and every bid.

Evidence, not aspiration

Donor Ready produces independently verified outputs, not talking points. When you say you take workplace culture seriously, you have the documentation to prove it.

The Program

Four pillars.
Twelve months.

Each pillar addresses a specific area of donor scrutiny. Together they produce a comprehensive, evidenced picture of a forward-thinking, modern organization.

Pillar One

Workplace Culture & Distributed Working

An independent benchmark of your organization's workplace culture and distributed working practices, followed by a structured training and action plan cycle.

  • Independent organizational benchmark
  • 6 x 1-hour live online sessions, delivered by a training expert
  • Structured action plans following each session
  • Re-benchmark at the end of the program

Training is delivered on multiple dates and times across the year. Will not interfere with your team's calendars.

Pillar Two

Respectful Workplace

A robust, independently evidenced approach to preventing sexual harassment, a growing area of donor scrutiny.

  • Independent workplace audit against current standards
  • 2 x 1-hour live online sessions, delivered by a training expert
  • Action plans and implementation support
  • Re-audit at program conclusion

Current EEOC guidance expects employers to take proactive steps to prevent harassment. Donors are not fooled by a $30 online course that ends in a certificate, and neither is a court. This pillar gives you an independent, evidenced approach that stands up to real scrutiny.

Pillar Three

Human People Sustainability

Delivered in partnership with Green Cross, the global sustainability NGO, this is a first: an independent qualitative review that measures the environmental sustainability of your individual workers, not your buildings or ride-share schemes. For nonprofits that have struggled to tick the sustainability box in corporate donor ESG frameworks, this pillar makes that possible.

  • Independent qualitative sustainability audit of your workforce
  • Delivered in partnership with Green Cross (global sustainability NGO)
  • Analysis report with sector context
  • 1-hour training session
  • Re-audit at program conclusion
  • Outputs suitable for inclusion in donor and funder communications

This is not a full carbon audit. It is a structured, people-level assessment that produces credible evidence for donor conversations, particularly in areas where nonprofits have historically had no answer.

Pillar Four

Trust & Human Skills

Donors back organizations they trust, run by people who can lead, communicate and adapt. This pillar benchmarks how your organization builds trust, inside the team and with funders, and develops the durable human skills that matter most as the world moves fast around AI, then evidences the progress.

  • Independent benchmark of trust and human-skills capability
  • Live online training sessions, delivered by a training expert
  • Structured action plans following each session
  • Re-benchmark at the end of the program

These are the qualities a funder feels in a first meeting, long before they read a bid: judgment, communication, leadership and the ability to adapt. Evidencing them sets you apart from every nonprofit that can only talk about its mission.

How It Works

A structured program,
not a one-off project.

Donor Ready runs over 12 months. It is designed to fit around the demands of running a nonprofit, not to add to them.

01

Benchmark

Three independent assessments of seven minutes each over a twelve-month period. Establishes your starting position with precision.

02

Training

Live online sessions, delivered by a training expert across the year on multiple dates and times. Will not interfere with your team's calendars.

03

Action Plans

After each session, targeted action plans are developed and implemented with our support.

04

Re-Assessment

At program conclusion, full re-benchmarking and re-audits across all pillars document your progress. Donors value this: it demonstrates accountability.

Time Commitment

Designed around your diary, not ours.

CEO / HR Director

Approximately 7 hours across the full 12-month program. This includes oversight, sign-off on action plans, and the final re-benchmark review.

7 hours across 12 months.

Team Members

20-minute benchmark assessment, training sessions spread across the year, and time contributing to action plans. Sessions are offered on multiple dates and times so no single scheduling conflict blocks participation.
